AEG Insurance: Insurance Services

Open enrollment is a great opportunity to reset and reconsider your health insurance needs. Maybe you’re looking to pay a lower premium, or perhaps you want a plan with lower deductibles and copayments. While these are important reasons to review your current coverage, this time of year can also be a chance to explore other insurance options that might be the perfect fit for your lifestyle. Here are a few you should consider:

1. Accident Plans

Whether you’re an athlete, super active, or accident-prone (like me!), accident plans are an inexpensive way to offset the cost of an unexpected ER visit or a broken bone. The best part? These plans pay you instead of the insurance carrier. How great is that? Accident plans are an excellent way to prepare for the unexpected while keeping costs low. You can learn more about this in my IG live from September.

2. Dental and Vision Coverage

Most health insurance plans don’t cover dental or vision care for adults, and many of my clients ask about adding this coverage. My advice is always the same: Make sure your trusted dentist and eye doctor are in-network for the plan you’re considering. This is a common mistake new clients make, and ensuring your providers are covered can save you both time and money. Don’t let open enrollment pass without considering your dental and vision needs.

3. Cancer and Chronic Illness Plans

A close friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, and naturally, I asked about the costs she faced. Thankfully, she had a cancer policy that she’d kept for years, and she told me it was one of the best decisions she’d ever made. The policy helped cover treatments, doctor consultations, second opinions, and surgeries, providing her peace of mind in an incredibly difficult time. Cancer and chronic illness plans are surprisingly affordable and can even offer wellness benefits. It’s definitely worth exploring.

As you weigh your coverage options during open enrollment, take a few minutes to learn how these products can complement your current insurance picture. Protection doesn’t have to cost a ton, but it’s worth its weight in gold when you need it.
